THREE BEARS WITH ATTITUDE [ARTIST - PATRICK O’REILLY]

These are a favourite of mine. I cannot find what the official title is so I have adopted my own and it is ‘Bears With attitude’.

By the way they have a brother ‘Beach Bear’ in Greystones county Wicklow. I you are aware of any other brothers or sisters please let me know an I will photograph them.

Patrick O'Reilly was born in 1957 in Kilkenny. At the age of 17 he studied at the Art College of Belfast, but left after on year. His giant bronze bears stand outside the 3Arena at the Point in Dublin and I really like them.

BLOWING MY WORRIES AWAY BY BIANCA DIVITO [SCULPTURE IN CONTEXT 2016 AWARD WINNER]

Sculpture in Context 2016 award winner. Exhibition runs until October 21st 2016 at The National Botanic Gardens, Dublin.

“As a child I was mesmerized by my father's stained glass creations and the play of light prisms. Over the past ten years my creative journey has been to combine glass and crystal to make art glass which blends the aesthetic and personal. My pieces are necessarily timeless, but always alive and relevant.” -Bianca Divito

EWE-TUBE BY MARK RYAN [SCULPTURE IN CONTEXT 2016]

I especially liked this.

The scale of his work varies from small scale intimate works to very large scale sculptures in public spaces. His work is included in many national and international collections.

He has received the Braun prize at Carlow Eigse and the Halward Sculpture prize. His work is selected regularly for the RHA annual show and Sculpture in Context, the Botanic Gardens Dublin and by various galleries throughout Ireland.
